Loan Operations Coordinator

The Role

As one of Canada's leading fintech start-ups, Lending Loop is rapidly expanding its Loan Operations team and is looking for an individual with excellent attention-to-detail and communication skills, and who is driven, collaborative and a proactive problem-solver. This is a great opportunity for an individual looking to contribute to a growing organization, gain loan operations experience in a client-facing role, and who has a passion for small business and technology.


As Loan Operations Coordinator at Lending Loop, you will be responsible for executing mission-critical tasks related to loan underwriting and servicing, and treasury and payment operations. You will also play an important role in creating and implementing standards and processes across these key areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continue to develop and document our operational processes

  • Work to continuously improve processes in order to drive efficiencies and reduce operational risk

  • Complete KYC information to assist with client onboarding

  • Diligently check that required documentation has been received and completed correctly and identify suspected cases of fraudulent documents

  • Maintain and put into practice strategies and policies for operations and reporting

  • Work with our Account Management and Credit teams to help guide small business loan transactions through from start to finish, ensuring adherence to documentation requirements and proper records management

  • Record, scan and manage borrower documents

  • Use online tools and portals to input and verify data electronically

  • Document the receipt of fund transfer requests and transfer of funds for loan origination, and execute transfers

  • Register liens/security interests while maintaining perfect accuracy

Desired Qualities, Skills, and Experience

  • 3 years experience in loan operations or account management

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Salesforce CRM or similar software tools

  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment at an early stage fintech start-up

  • Excellent customer service, written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent attention-to-detail, organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to follow procedures and guidelines as required
