The ideal candidate is a self-directed, product-focused developer who is excited by the prospect of building the future of Canadian finance. As a full-stack developer, you will be responsible for developing future iterations of the Lending Loop platform. This will include adding and maintaining third-party integrations, building new product features and constructively utilizing user feedback to guide future product development.
Additionally, the full-stack developer will bring their technical expertise to assist in other facets of the business including credit evaluation, marketing and finance. As a member of the technical team in a start-up environment, you will be playing a key role in laying the technical foundation of the company from fixing bugs to building critical infrastructure.
Spearhead the development of critical features on the product roadmap including the development of a REST API, asynchronous database syncing and an integration of a frontend JS framework.
Collaborate with the team on refactoring high value systems and components of the existing codebase and make performance improvements across all integrations and systems.
Desired Qualities, Skills, and Experience
2 – 5 years of professional experience with most or all of the technologies used in our stack: Ruby, Rails, Heroku, PostgreSQL, jQuery and JS.
Proficiency in version control (git) workflows.
Adept in the thorough testing of code with a number of testing frameworks.
Willingness to adapt and learn new things.
Experience with building iOS & Android native applications.
Previously built applications for the financial services industry.
Familiarity with the Salesforce.com platform and/or the Salesforce.com REST API.
